Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks NBA finals Game 1 analysis

The Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks went for the coveted Larry O'Brien trophy in their Game 1 Finals matchup yesterday. Everyone was expecting a great game and thats what we got. The heat were off to a bit of a sluggish start, but they found a way overcome a deficit at halftime. In the playoffs, the Heat are 6-0 when they are down at halftime. Coach Spoelstra is doing a great job of keeping this team cool and not paniking, though I wouldnt want to get confident. This Dallas Mavericks team is full of great players and have a ton of veterans. They are going to go out there with a purpose and Miami can not get overconfident. They had to fight for this one until they finally took control of the game. Dirk was being Dirk and their bench was no where to be found. We played very good defense but I think we had times where Miami was slow rotating to the open man and having to chase bodies. Also I noticed that we need to do a better job of closing out on defense because we would switch to a different player and one of the Dallas players blew by us. But throughout these playoffs, I believe that the Heat have learned how to finish games and it has been a huge plus for the Heat. Lebron came to the rescue and Wade came up big in the 4th after a slow start, and Bosh did a tremendous job rebounding and making key shots when they needed it most. The Miami Heat bench has to keep playing the way they played in game one. The Heat have only outscored another teams bench 8 times out of the 98 games they have played all season.
